Etana is vocal and will bark often while playing and alert you to all of the predators outside of your home (people ringing the doorbell, the mailman or the dreaded garbage truck).  She goes into her crate easily and has learned the routine of her foster family to know when to go in without even being asked when they are going to leave for a while.  She has never had an accident in her foster home but has not been left out of the crate when they leave.  She has been left out overnight with no issues other than that she really feels she should sleep in her foster parent’s bed, glued to their side or even on top of them.  She is very smart and capable of learning so many things but will take time and patience as she was not worked with at a young age.  She is learning to walk on a leash and does well with a pinch collar.  She will pull very hard with a regular collar.  Her favorite time is going on trail walks with her foster family.  She is still learning about the car and will sometimes get sick if it is a long ride.  She does well with short rides and does seem to keep improving with her comfort level.  She prefers to not ride in a crate in the car as that seems to make her more sick.  

Etana would love a home that understands the German Shepherd breed and is ready to work with her to be the best dog she can be.  She wants to please and is highly food motivated.  She loves to snuggle and curl up with anyone that is sitting on the couch or laying in bed.  She will even try to curl up with her furry friends if they will allow it.  Even though her life started very difficult, she has lived up to the meaning of her name by being strong and determined to push through all obstacles!  She has kept her loving personality and is ready to be your best friend.
